Velvet Bloom

This is a simple drink, but the fans love it

Ingredients

2 cups oat milk (or whole milk if you prefer dairy)

1 cup water

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon rose water (optional but adds elegance)

2 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed (or 1/8 tsp ground cardamom)

Pinch of salt

Optional: a few dried rose petals or edible flower petals for garnish

> Spice it harder. Cardamom’s fine, but toss in a cracked chili pod and make it burn as it soothes. That’s a hunter’s nightcap. > Flame > This is medicine as much as drink. Cardamom warms the spirit, rose lifts the heart. A promise that even after the chase, there is rest. > Rain Dancer

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine oat milk, water, honey/maple, vanilla, cardamom, rose water (if using), and salt.

> Rose water and cardamom – refined, almost courtly. Serve it in glass, not mugs, or you’ll lose the elegance. > Elena

Heat gently over medium-low, whisking occasionally, until steaming hot – do not boil.

Let steep for 3–5 minutes if using cardamom pods for full infusion.

Strain if needed. Taste and adjust sweetness or floral note to preference.

Pour into small heatproof glasses or teacups. Garnish each with a few petals if desired.
